Operations Manager
As Sort Operations Manager, we’ll look to you to enhance our performance across a huge Sort hub. You’ll make sure every parcel gets to where it needs to be –thousands of them, every day.
Reviewing parcel volumes, you’ll use your people, resource and budget management skills to ensure we deliver on every promise we make. There are three national centres for our Sort operations, with an Operations Manager in each.
Whilst the General Manager focuses on strategy, you will be the safe, senior hands they place the overall day-to-day operation in. The role is extremely varied, and carries the autonomy you thrive on that’s integral to the entire hub’s success.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you will be the figurehead for planning resources, including agencies, people management, health and safety, compliance, operational costs and hitting every KPI. It will be as varied as it is challenging.
Role Scope
With up to four Shift Managers reporting to you, you’ll motivate and indirectly manage up to 300 colleagues across the depot. It’s an incredibly senior role, and the ideal opportunity to refine your leadership skills further.
Skills & Experience
An understanding of the logistics and warehouse environment, including conveyor systems, deep knowledge of production planning, budget management and an IOSH qualification are key. Ideally, you’ll also have experience of flow in an automated environment.
