As a senior manager, you’ll enjoy having your talents and transport operations knowledge tested, in a role that promises you the chance to shape an entire depot’s operations.
Operations Manager
Across our business we’ve a trailer fleet in excess of 1,200, and across our three national depots, we have vehicles going out to almost 50 smaller Service Centres across the country.
Delivering our promise to get every single parcel to the right place, at the right time, is a challenge you’ll take in your stride as an Operations Manager. You will manage your hub’s transport operations, from overseeing trailer collections from client sites, to ensuring each parcel continues its journey in perfect condition.
Whilst the hub’s General Manager focuses on strategy, you’ll be the safe, senior hands they place the overall day-to-day Transport operation in. It’s a varied role, with the respect and autonomy you’d expect from a management role that’s integral to the success of the entire hub.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you’ll plan resources, manage supplier relationships, and handle health and safety, compliance, operational costs, hitting every KPI and developing your team. It’ll be as varied as it is challenging.
Role Scope
With around four Shift Managers reporting to you, you’ll motivate and indirectly manage up to 300 colleagues in your Transport team. It’s an incredibly senior role – and the ideal opportunity to refine your leadership skills further.
Skills & Experience
To add your talents to our family, you’ll need to be an O licence holder, with a Transport CPC and IOSH qualification. You’ll also need strong knowledge of transport operations, transport management and transport management systems.
Rewards & Benefits
As Operations Manager, you’ll enjoy benefits that include an excellent pension scheme, incentive scheme, Childcare Vouchers and a generous Very.co.uk discount.
